In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, carom seeds, and oil.
Add enough water to make a soft dough. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until it is smooth and pliable.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
Take one portion of the dough and roll it into a circle.
Place the chopped onions in the center of the circle and fold the edges of the dough over the onions to form a pocket.
Roll the pocket into a paratha.
Heat a griddle or tawa over medium heat. Place the paratha on the griddle and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Flip the paratha and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Spread some ghee over the paratha and cook for another minute.
Flip the paratha and spread some more ghee over the other side.
Cook for another minute or until the paratha is golden brown and crisp.
Serve hot with yogurt or pickle. Enjoy!
