Peel and grate the lauki.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
When the cumin seeds start to crackle, add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown.
Add the chopped tomato and sauté for a few minutes.
Add the grated lauki, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and salt.
Mix everything together and cook for 10-15 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
Serve hot with chapatis or rice.
