In a bowl, mix together the besan, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, baking soda, carom seeds, cumin seeds, salt and sugar.
Add the yogurt and mix until it forms a thick batter.
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
Drop small spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
Remove the boondi from the oil and drain on paper towels.
