In a bowl, mix together the besan, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala, ajwain and salt.
Add the water and mix until you get a thick batter.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Grease the pan with some oil.
Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan and spread it evenly.
Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges start to brown.
Flip the cheela and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Serve hot with chutney or pickle.
