The HealthifyMeter Gender Watch Report 2017 compiles data from more than 1.5 million people, across 197,694 locations and over 60 million food logs. This report gives an idea as to how healthy the country is.
A startling insight provided by this report is that women are far behind when it comes to the ideal consumption of Proteins, Fats and Carbohydrates which is 20:30:50. Thus, giving India yet another reason to put #HerHealthFirst.
Data shows that there is a 13% difference in the consumption of proteins by women when compared to men.
It can also be observed that the protein consumption of women across meals is also lower than that of men.
This disparity spreads across the country with a high concentration in the North-Eastern states followed by the Northern part of the country.
Yet another key observation can be made from this report. While the fat consumption of women more or less equals that of men, they consume 12% more carbohydrates than men.
However, there is a silver lining when it comes to working towards the betterment of women’s health.
