    • It is always advised to have green tea without any sweeteners such as honey, brown sugar or artificial sweeteners that add extra calories and dilute the benefits of green tea. However, if you’re still adjusting to the taste of green tea you may add ginger, lemon juice, cinnamon or cardamom powder to enhance its flavour.

  1. Green tea and aemia. I became a big fan of green tea a few years back. I would drink 2 to 4 mugs a day. I am in pretty good shape for 74 yrs. Recently i have been suffering bouts of dizziness and light headedness. I eat well but have diagnosed with anemia. Am I drinkiing too much green tea?

    • Around 2 cups (350 ml) of green tea per day is fine but excess green tea consumption increases daily tannin intake which does interfere with iron absorbtion. Few other compounds like tannins in tea inhibit the absorption of nutrients too, hence it’s advisable to keep a gap of a couple of hours between tea consumption and food intake.

    • You can use either of these or in combination to enhance the taste of tea and skip the milk. One can add lemon juice, ginger, some fresh herbs of your choice, cinnamon, cardamom powder or edible flowers with tea in order to make it taste better.
